Honest gear recommendations for every golfer.
Birdie Picks is a recommendation engine for golf equipment. You answer a few questions about your game, your goals, and your budget — and we match you with the gear that actually fits.
No accounts. No spam. No "Top 10" lists written by someone who's never held a 60-degree wedge.
Every recommendation is grounded in independent testing data and real-world performance reviews. We pull from sources like MyGolfSpy's robot-tested rankings, tour usage data, and hands-on reviews from credible outlets — not manufacturer marketing.
Our philosophy is simple: if you're still building consistency, the right gear limits the damage of your misses. Once you're consistent, the right gear helps you get more out of your best swings. That's the lens we use for every recommendation.
Our scoring considers your skill level, swing characteristics, priorities, and budget. We don't recommend the most expensive option by default, and we don't shy away from value picks that outperform their price tag (looking at you, Kirkland).
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running without ads or paywalls.
This never influences our recommendations. We pick the best products first, then link to where you can buy them. If a product doesn't have an affiliate program, we still recommend it if it's the right fit. For example, our ball quiz often recommends Kirkland Signature balls, and we earn nothing from them. We recommend them because the data says they consistently perform as well as much more expensive balls.
We're not a golf retailer. We don't carry inventory or process orders. We're not paid by brands to feature their products. And we're not going to recommend a $600 driver to someone who should be spending $200 on lessons.
We're golfers who got tired of sifting through SEO-bait articles and affiliate-stuffed "best of" lists. So we built the tool we wished existed.
We're always looking to improve our recommendations and add new categories. If something seems off, or if you have a suggestion, reach out at [email protected].
